Flattering?

Today at work I called one of our suppliers -- and not even one of our regulars; I don't think I've spoken to these people a dozen times in the last nine months. The lady who answered their phone recognized me by my voice -- and they don't have caller ID, either.

While I think I have a pleasant enough voice, I wouldn't call it distinctive; it might charitably be described as Weatherman-On-A-Stick. Mebbe the supplier lady just has a crush on me :>

The alternative explanation, of course, is that they're on the verge of bankruptcy and I'm the only one who calls them at all. But I thought it would be impolite to ask that one.

I'll confirm it for you if I get to hear your voice.

I've still got one of the readings I did for my wife online, back during my abortive attempt to start a Sailor Jim audiobook. It's available here:

I'm still looking for other voices, if you're interested (and have access to recording equipment). SJ didn't respond directly, but his other posts have led me to believe he wouldn't mind his work being disseminated far and wide.

I think something can be arranged. I have my computer set up for voice recording. I just have to do it when none of my men are at home.

You have a specific story you'd prefer to read? The only other ones I've recorded are "Naked Through The Snow" and "Death By Pizza" ... but ideally, I'd love to set those aside and have each story read by a different Callahanian.
