Flattering?
Today at work I called one of our suppliers -- and not even one of our regulars; I don't think I've spoken to these people a dozen times in the last nine months. The lady who answered their phone recognized me by my voice -- and they don't have caller ID, either.
While I think I have a pleasant enough voice, I wouldn't call it distinctive; it might charitably be described as Weatherman-On-A-Stick. Mebbe the supplier lady just has a crush on me :>
The alternative explanation, of course, is that they're on the verge of bankruptcy and I'm the only one who calls them at all. But I thought it would be impolite to ask that one.

I'm still looking for other voices, if you're interested (and have access to recording equipment). SJ didn't respond directly, but his other posts have led me to believe he wouldn't mind his work being disseminated far and wide.
