Flattering?
Aug. 15th, 2002 07:11 pmToday at work I called one of our suppliers -- and not even one of our regulars; I don't think I've spoken to these people a dozen times in the last nine months. The lady who answered their phone recognized me by my voice -- and they don't have caller ID, either.
While I think I have a pleasant enough voice, I wouldn't call it distinctive; it might charitably be described as Weatherman-On-A-Stick. Mebbe the supplier lady just has a crush on me :>
The alternative explanation, of course, is that they're on the verge of bankruptcy and I'm the only one who calls them at all. But I thought it would be impolite to ask that one.
