Job situation resolved.
Apr. 12th, 2006 05:45 amThe former owner of my old store -- the one I've been freelancing for since I got fired -- told me last night that he'd like me to stick around and work for him a while. The only downside is, I'd be making less money than I would in the sugarplum daydreams I've been having since I started my job search. Upsides: I'd be making a smidgen more money than at my last job, this store's a bit closer to home, my slate of write-ups is obviously wiped clean -- and the big one: my once and future boss is well aware of my need for a flexible schedule. Since I won't be the only full-time artist at his store, I've been given permission to basically come and go as our family needs require. Bonus detail: by taking work as an independent contractor, I should be able to keep Rachal on the health insurance she has currently, which means we won't have to pay out a second deductible this year.
So as it happens, I was only unemployed for about six hours. *wipes sweat from brow*. This getting fired thing has turned into a fairly profitable experience :>
