Things have been looking up for both Rachal and myself. I'm likin' my new work situation across the board, basically -- and she's not had any medical crises in several weeks. The doctors on her new insurance plan seem uniformly competent, and they actually listen to what she has to say, while making suggestions for new courses of treatment that she's not heard of before.
Like the anti-nausea drug she can't throw up: her new prescription for Promethazine has been made into a cream, which she rubs on the inside of her wrists. It seems to take effect within 10-15 minutes, which is faster than either pills or suppositories work on her -- plus her body has no way to, uh, eliminate it.
The only one of my co-workers who had heard of this delivery system was schooled in sports medicine -- it was even news to Rachal's primary care physician. So any of you folks with migraines, or other nausea issues, might wanna look into finding a compounding pharmacy in your neighborhood to whip up a batch.
