Anniversaries

Today's the one-year anniversary of my father's death.

I've still got the Extended Director's Cut of his eulogy in the pipeline (and am scared to find out how many thousands of words I'm up to by now), but I'm not gonna finish it by midnight, so I'm marking the occasion with this anecdote instead:
