1. What's on your bedside table?
My scanner, my CD burner, and occasionally my cell phone and laptop.
2. What's the geekiest part of your music collection?
Soundtrack to _The Rocky Horror Picture Show_.
3. What do you eat when you raid the fridge at night?
I rarely raid the fridge at night, and when I do, it's to get a drink. Milk or water, usually.
4. What is your secret guaranteed weeping film?
_Field of Dreams_
5. If you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
I can't think of anything I'd change. I'd leave the scars on my forehead alone even if removing them was free and painless.
6. Do you have a completely irrational fear?
That someone, someday, might ask me what my physical "tells" are.
7. What is the little physical habit that gives away your insecure moments?
Gaaah! :>
8. Do you ever have to beg?
I don't recall the last time I begged for anything.
9. Do you have too many love interests?
Um, no :>
10. Do you know anyone famous?
Sort of. In the mid-eighties, I helped run sound at the church Crystal Lewis attended, and took piano lessons from her mother. She's now a pretty well-known gospel singer. I've met other famous folks, but she's the only one who might still be able to pick me out of a lineup ...and at that, I've not spoken to her in fifteen years.
11. Describe your bed:
It's a futon mattress, placed on top of a couch's hide-a-bed. When I'm living with my wife again, I fancy we'll sleep on her big waterbed, complete with cats.
12. Spontaneous or plan?
More spontaneous, but with delusions of planning.
13. Who should play you in a movie about your life?
Who *should* play me because they look like me: perhaps Fred Savage, if he's willing to put on fifty pounds. Who I would like to play me even though he's older and I could maintain my anonymity: Wesley Snipes.
14. Do you know how to play poker?
Yes, but I'll usually play in a manner that amuses me, rather than playing smart and trying to calculate odds.
15. What do you carry with you at all times?
My cell phone, my wallet, and my nerd watch.
16. How do you drive?
A lot more slowly than a year ago, before a local speed trap became part of my daily route. I also try to pretend that the road is populated with nineteen-year-old versions of myself, and anticipate the dumbass moves they'll consequently inflict on me.
17. What do you miss most about being little?
The lack of responsibility, although I didn't appreciate it at the time.
18. Are you happy with your given name?
Yes, although I think my parents took some offense that I hyphenated my last name when I got married.
19. What color is your bedroom?
The room I currently sleep in is off-white. But I'm crashing at someone else's place for the next few months.
20. What was the last song you were listening to?
On purpose? "Closer to Fine", by the Indigo Girls.
21. Have you ever been in a school play?
I've been in a few church plays, even sung a solo, but not since I was eleven or so.
22. Have you ever been in love?
Yes, still am, thanks.
23. Do you like yourself and believe in yourself?
Yes, still do, thanks. I am quite the self-absorbed person, and only know a couple of people who seem to think I'm funnier than *I* think I am.
24. Have you ever done any illegal drugs?
Actually, no. I got drunk once, and wasn't sufficiently impressed to want to repeat the experience with other recreational chemicals.
25. Do you think you're cute?
Yes. I don't, however, consider myself handsome; I feel my attractive qualities lie elsewhere :>
26. Do you consider yourself to be a nice person?
More often than not. However, I have no wish to be nice above all else; I think there are times when brutal honesty is the best approach.
27. Do you spend more time with your girlfriend/boyfriend, or your friends?
My friends, which isn't the way I prefer it. My wife is currently attending school in another state, and I intend to start making up for the time deficit when she graduates later this year.
