Fentanyl patch, and commercial
Mar. 27th, 2009 06:12 amRachal's pain doc recently prescribed a fentanyl patch for her, and so far we're very impressed. Since she put it on, she's had long stretches of time where on the 1-10 pain scale, she registers ...zero. This is an unusual feeling for her, and she's recalibrating :>
Also, fentanyl does not seem (so far) to make her as fuzzy-headed as hydromorphone appears to, but it may work so well only because it's still new and shiny. We'll wait till she's been on it a while longer and see if her body responds less dramatically to it.
In other news, I got a commercial for my job broadcast on a local station -- 98.7 allows you to phone in and talk about your company for forty-five seconds, and if you're sufficiently coherent, they play it on the air. I heard them laughing at mine while I recorded it, and they were amused enough that they left in my closing "....aaaaaaannnnnd SCENE", which I didn't expect. It's been almost twenty-four hours since it aired, and the total number of calls has been ...one. (From a company in a related field, who wants to sell us *their* services).
