My dad's taken a bad turn. The cancer that they successfully burned out of this throat has apparently taken up residence in his lungs, along with pneumonia and a staph infection. He's left instructions that he's not to be resuscitated, and I dunno if he's strong enough to go home for hospice care.

When I thought (six hours ago) that he was likely to recover, I planned to mosey out to Idaho in a few weeks, to spell my mother again during his ongoing treatment. But I got another phone call telling me basically that if I wanted a chance to see him again, I better hurry out there ...so Rachal and I are leaving tomorrow, with tentative plans to return a week from Monday.

More as the situation develops, but my next post will probably be a Plaque.

Rick, I'm so sorry. If there's anything I can do, please let me know. If you don't have my # handy, Ali does.

Same from me, Rick. Except Ali doesn't have my number, seeing as I don't know who Ali is. And if Ali DOES have my number, well, that's just freaky.

*HUGS*

Good thoughts. I've sorta been through this before, with the rollercoaster when we found out Mom's leukemia had come back. And even though it looks like she beat it, again, you never know.

and hugs if you want them.
