"Babylon 5" ...is one of my favorite TV shows that starts with "B". And had you heard that another direct-to-video movie is in the works?

Band ...a lot of my favorite memories are related to any of several bands I've been a member of. Most of those stem from a youth marching band in California: the Santa Ana Winds. It was through them that I marched in a Superbowl halftime show, a couple of Rose Parades, and I-don't-remember-how-many shows at Disneyland.

Barker, Clive ...my favorite "B" author [1], I find Mr. Barker's writing style to be more refined than Stephen King's, and less obscure than Anne Rice's. Plus, he makes it very easy to believe that there are new worlds just around the next corner.

Bastard ...technically, being adopted, I R one. I find it occasionally amusing to refer to myself, correctly, as a cranky bastard ...but this also leads me into a set speech with which I'll talk your ear off, about how I've never thought of my folks as anything but my mother and father, nor have I had any desire to dig up my biological parents. I dunno if this puts me in the minority of adopted kids or not.

"Battlestar Galactica" ...is another one of my favorite "B" shows. I'm especially pleased at the chutzpah it took to change the direction of the show so drastically between the second and third seasons.

Benzodiazepines ...have saved Rachal's bacon on more than one occasion. Details in my archived friend-locked posts.

Bézier curves ...are the types of mathematically described curves used in a lot of computer drawing programs -- like Adobe Illustrator, which I first started workin' with in the late eighties, and have been using professionally pretty much ever since.

Bible ...which I'm re-reading in its entirety, both for my own reasons and because I told my Mom I would. She's hoping it will help jar me from the agnostic track I've been walking [2] for the last couple of decades, and back onto the Christian track on which I was raised. I'm reading with as open a mind as I can manage -- without guns blazin', as I phrased it to her -- but early data aren't favorable to her preferred outcome.

Boxers ...are the breed of dog that my parents always had around, dating as far back as my mother's childhood. They're patient, they look like they chase parked cars, and I'm pretty sure they produce saliva in greater amounts than the volume of water they drink each day. It's all upside!

Burger ...preferably with cheese, ketchup, pickles and bacon. [singing] "These are a few of my favorite things -- " [/singing]

[2] Walking? Nay, sitting. And while my mother's gentle harping on the subject inclines me to dig in my heels, I'll try not to be that stubbornly stupid; I need to make *some* progress in my spiritual growth, even if it's not in a direction she approves of. I intend to read the holy books of several major religions ...but I've been intending to do that for some years now. Time to get moving.
